

Founding Director
Wu En Loong was born in Kuala Lumpur in 1964. He left for England at a primary age to pursue an education which eventually led him to study Architecture. His first academic institution was the University of Liverpool. After 3 years and with a BA degree, En Loong worked for Conran Roach, a partnership between Fred Roach and Sir Terence Conran. Soon after he completed his Diploma in Architecture course at the Bartlett School of Architecture UCL, under the tutelage of Sir Peter Cook, he participated in various international competitions, whilst setting up his own partnership with fellow college mates in London. In-between courses, he also completed a year at the Architectural Association in London as an external student. In 1997, En Loong founded GAS and in 2008 he established WACA-GAS. Being the founder and principal, he leads and explores design processes across various scales. His reputation as a committed designer to the collaborative aspect of creating architecture has led to addressing and refining design ideas to arrive at a solution which is architecturally, functionally and intellectually coherent. En Loong has completed a diverse international body of works of various sizes including cultural, residential, commercial, civic and masterplanning projects. Under his directorship, the practice has won several competitions, mostly in and around China and the pacific realm region.
